Having walked along Lois, these photos bring back good memories.
Inspite of the lack of “stuff” these people seem to live in a functioning society
where the family still plays a central role and nobody appears to be hungry and neglected.

Lois, I’m really happy to come across your story and your great blog from the Gutsy Story contest. The writing and photos are wonderful. From the original story, I appreciate reading about how you kept going in pursuit of creative alternatives, despite many frustrating and overwhelming circumstances. Good luck with your book (and did your wish at the Ganges come true? Loved the pic of you putting flowers in the river ;).
